Character sheets for a project from Character Design class. We had to think up a story / two characters for a ghost / zombie theme set in Savannah (the city of our college). It had to be kept simple and something that could be animated without too much work. ^^
This is Elaine, a ghost-zombie girl (So she’s like a Ghzombie…or something. O_o ) who is an undead flapper girl from the 20’s who died during the 30’s depression.
I’m too lazy to describe the series, but to make it simple she is lonely (cause ghosts and zombies are afraid of her too cause she is a weird in-between mix), looking to discover clues to how she died (sees in black and white and likes to look at the long, contrasting shadows of dawn/dusk), and occasionally saves people from mean zombies / monsters.
Her only friends are animals and bugs (or may the occasional nice little human girl) X3 she has a pet beetle named Mushi who is just damn adorable. He can be seen here: [link]
LOL Well, considering her half ghost-i-ness, *thinks* I'd say no cause she doesn't need to eat the living to survive like a zombie. But she DOES have physical form, but not fully (she can't go through things like a ghost tho, but can turn invisible). XD
THis is cool! But, the thing you have to remember about the 20's is that sleeves weren't something you saw a lot of, especially in hot places like Savannah! XD
Haha well, her outfit as it is now is pretty different from when she died (as high collars were not a style in the 20's either ) , since she has ghost properties she can choose her appearance slightly, but since she is half zombie too she doesn't have full control to make her self look as she did in life (as the mythology goes in the world). She is also missing her socks, shoes, and hat. A running gag is she is always looking for shoes but none ever fit her or she can find full pairs.
Reference wise to look 20's ish, I was going for a slight resemblance to those flapper dresses that were all 'strandy'.

Did you use any references with her outfit?
